Galva 2 Coach Jason Klein gave pitcher Jonah Zahm a ride on his shoulders after a strong outing on Sunday, July 11.

The black and gold Galva 2 youth baseball team had a big weekend July 10-11, winning three games in a row.

The first game was an in-town battle with Galva 1. Galva 2 put together its best game of the year, winning 11-1.

In the second game, Galva 2 avenged a 12-4 loss at Oneida with an 8-5 win at the Galva Park District.

On Sunday night in the Bi-County tournament in Wataga, second-seeded Galva 2 began play in the 11-team event. Galva 2 pulled off an upset of AlWood, 9-8, making up for an early season 5-0 loss.

The team, comprised of kids 8-10 years old, is sponsored by Country Financial of Galva. The team is coached by Dan Meyer and assistants Klein, Dave Platt and Jon Zahm.
