Spartans top Mid-County in golf opener

Ethan Francis fired 41 to lead Ridgewood (AlWood-Cambridge co-op) over Mid-County (Galva-ROWVA co-op) 192-203 in boys high school golf Aug. 16 at Valley View Country Club in Cambridge.

MC’s Cody Reiber tied Francis for medalist honors with 41.

Rounding out the scores for Ridgewood were Mike Welch 48, Noah Shannon 51 and Alex Johnson 52.

MC’s remaining counters were Brett Saline 53, Brett Lundeen 54 and Steve Reynolds 55.

Mid-County defeated Ridgewood in the JV match 228-278. MC’s Brandon Anderson and Sam Rammage were JV medalists with rounds of 55.
