Police hunt for men who stole from Geneseo store
Geneseo police officers are investigating the theft of electronic equipment from IDC TechCenter in Geneseo.
Shortly after 2 p.m. on July 29, two subjects entered the store. One was a white male wearing a white T-shirt with a dark colored design on the front. The man had blonde or light colored hair in a buzz cut-type hairstyle. He is known as "Suspect No. 1."
The other subject — Suspect No. 2 — also is a white male. He wore a long-sleeved shirt. The man has a large build, short dark hair and a full, dark-colored beard.
Suspect No. 1 engaged the clerk in conversation providing a distraction for Suspect No. 2, who began to walk around the store.
Taking advantage of the distraction, Suspect No. 2 then placed a Nexus Tablet under his shirt and walked out of the store, followed by Suspect No. 1. The pair may have left in a pickup truck.
Suspect No. 2 previously had been recorded on surveillance cameras and was possibly involved in a winter theft at IDC TechCenter where a Toshiba computer was taken. On that occasion, Suspect No. 2 was wearing a stocking cap and a brown winter jack.
Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to contact Henry County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-227-2324. All calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous and if your tip leads to a felony arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward.
