Saturday, Aug. 31, last day to order Tackle Cancer shirts

Balloons released at Tackle Cancer Night on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, remember those who have died from the disease, those who are fighting it, and those who have survived it. The balloon release took place during halftime of the varsity game with Illini West at Charger Field in Orion.

Saturday, Aug. 31, is the last day to order T-shirts for the third annual Tackle Cancer football games, which will be played on Friday, Sept. 13, against Rockridge at Charger Field.

"Real fans wear pink" is the slogan on the shirts, which are available in white or black.

Shirts may be paid for when they are picked up. They will be available from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at the West-Simmer house, 1414 Eighth Street, Orion.

Special activities on Sept. 13 begin at 5 p.m. All proceess will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Quad Cities Affiliate.
