20 Geneseo musicians earn All State honors

Twenty Geneseo High School musicians were selected to the ILMEA All State Music Festival.
This year was the first year sophomores were eligible to attend All State.
Being selected to represent their school at the ILMEA All State Music Festival is the highest honor a high school musician can achieve.
Tenor saxophone player Jacob Ryder, a junior, was selected first chair for the honors band. The honor indicates Ryder is the top tenor saxophone player in the state.
Sophomore trumpet player Rachel Daniels also was selected to the honors band and seated 12th among a total field of 40 trumpets.
Instrumental musicians also named to the All State Band include: senior Alex Williams (baritone saxophone), juniors Jordan Flies (clarinet), Alyson Holevoet (bassoon) and Kassandra Jolly (English horn and oboe), and sophomores Julia Poel (trombone) and Noah Coughlen (percussion).
Junior Anna McVay was selected for the All State Orchestra (string bass).
Vocalists selected to the Honors All State Choir were seniors Grace Burmahl, Luke Johnson and Andrew Roseman, and juniors Madi Miller and Meghan Welfer.
All State Choir members were: seniors Freja Hager and Haleigh Jacocks, juniors Rebecca Clementz, Matthew Lohman and Audrey Neal, and sophomore Kylee Gehl.
