Mid-County football program hosts raffle to fund new uniforms

The Mid-County football team is hoping to sport a new look when it takes the field in 2017.

The co-op football program is hosting a fund-raiser Friday, March 17, at Kewanee Dunes Golf Club to raise money for much-needed new uniforms. Head coach Gary Denhart said the Cougars are still wearing the original jerseys from when the co-op was formed (2010 season) and pants from the former AlWood-ROWVA co-op.

A total of 200 tickets at $100 each are being sold for the raffle. The ticket allows one couple entry into the raffle, dinner and soft drinks. Silent auction items also will be available throughout the night. Karissa Haptonstall will emcee the event. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the raffle follows at 7 p.m.

The package includes four Hog Trough tickets, four shirts, two tanks, two autographed posters from artists from the previous two years and coozies.  $50 to Sherman's in Peoria.  Basket donated by Home of the Brave.  J-Bird Boutique basket.  Norwex basket.  Meat bundle (of winner's choice) gift certificate from Save-A-Lot in Kewanee.
