Obituary: Maxine E. Evans
Maxine E. Evans, 79, of Cambridge died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, at Marigold Rehabilitation & Health Care, Galesburg.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at First Baptist Church of Cambridge. The Rev. Todd Smith will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services.

Maxine Elizabeth Stewart was born April 5, 1938, in Hillsdale, the daughter of Fred and Dorthea Mickaelson Stewart. She attended grade school in Hillsdale and graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1955. Her marriage to Daniel Evans took place on June 23, 1956, in Hillsdale.
She was the owner/operator of the Broken Wheel Restaurant in Cambridge for 10 years.
Maxine was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cambridge.
She enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping and waterskiing. Her first love was the river.
Those surviving are her husband, Dan; daughters and a son-in-law, Terry and Dale Allen of Cambridge and Vickie Vicevich of Green City, Mo.; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Dawn Evans of Cambridge and Todd and Dee Evans of Geneseo; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Stewart of Hillsdale; and a sister, Arlene Misfeldt of Geneseo.
Her parents; a brother, Richard; and a son-in-law, Sam Vicevich, preceded her in death.
