Galva native Stacey Collis was inducted into the Green Mountain High School Hall of Fame at the Ram Nation Ball on Jan. 19.

Collis enters the Lakewood, Colo., high school’s Hall of Fame as an Influencer.

Collis has served in law enforcement for 33 years, including 29 years as a detective and school resource officer (SRO) with the Lakewood Police Department.

He started working with the schools in the 1990s with the DARE and SROprograms. In August 2001, Collis started his assignment with Green Mountain High School as a school resource officer, where he remained until his retirement in November 2018.

Collis was inducted for his dedication to the students, staff and community of Green Mountain High School.

“Stacey is part of the GMHS family and his presence in our school has made it a safe and caring environment,”said GMHSprincipal Colleen Owens.

According to the Hall of Fame program, during retirement Collis hopes to spend more time with his wife, Paula, improving his golf game, riding horses, teaching school safety and becoming a basic SRO instructor with the National Association of School Resource Officers.
