Downtown Galva buildings sold for taxes

This is the front of the old Ceramic Shops buildings that are on Front Street in downtown Galva.

City Administrator David Dyer said the City of Galva just paid $808 each for the buildings in a tax sale. He said the check was written To the Henry County trustees.

The City has hired a structural engineer which will come on Wednesday to give a report on how structurally sound the buildings are. The building are currently abandoned.

It will be the Galva Council’s decision on what to do with the buildings.
