Local artists' work recognized

Winners in the annual Maple City Fine Arts Exhibit were announced at a reception at The Cellar, Geneseo. Those receiving awards are, from left: Neal Zahn, Colona, second place, “Spectacle”; Emily Nyquist, Geneseo, Best in Show, “Leopard”; James Nyland, Geneseo, third place, “Leaves in Ice”; and Sue Youngstrom, Cambridge, Honorable Mention, “A Day in Givemy”. Larry Wetmorland, Moline, won first place with Heartland,” but was absent when the photo was taken. This year’s judge was Dawn Wohlford-Metallo, Quad City Arts. Entries were open to the public and displays at The Cellar and at the Geneseo Art League Studio and Gallery.
