Two Galva businesses were broken into sometime after 10:30 p.m. Sunday and the damage was discovered by employees Monday morning.

Mary’s Family Dining & Lounge and Eastgate Lanes, both located on U.S. 34 on the east side of Galva were the victims.

Entry to Mary’s was gained through the front door; Eastgate Lanes, a bowling alley, was entered through its back door. Vandals cut the phone and cable cords in both establishments.

At the bowling alley the intruder(s) also broke into the office, according to Galva Police Chief Jerry Clark. The office was ransacked and an undetermined amount of cash was taken, Clark said.

At Mary’s, several machines were broken into. Some merchandise and an undermined amount of cash was taken.

Galva Police, Henry County Sheriff’s Department and the Illinois State Police Crime Lab are investigating. If anyone has any information, please call one of the agencies.
