Men indicted in drug case
A federal grand jury two weeks ago returned an indictment that charges four Henry County men with conspiracy to manufacture, distribute and possess methamphetamine.
Charged are Justin W. Collins, 30, of the 400 block of Hollis Street, Kewanee; Jeremy T. Payne, 30, of the 100 block of Northwest Second Avenue, Galva; Bradley A. Lain, 33, of the 600 block of Williams Street, Kewanee; and Steven Paul Nichols, 61, of the 1100 block of Lake Street, Kewanee.
The defendants appeared Aug. 2 before U.S. Magistrate Judge John A. Gorman and were ordered to remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending trial.
The one-count indictment alleges that from September 2004 to July 27, 2010, in Henry County, the men participated in a conspiracy to manufacture, distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
