Galva instrumentalists and vocalists to perform with others

Five Galva Junior/Senior High School music students have been selected to participate in the All-District Festival to be held next month.
Max O’Riley and Katelyn Klein, both seventh graders, and Stephanie Cokel, a senior, will all be singing in the All-District Choirs.
Eighth grader Luke North will be playing in the All-District Band at Augustana College in Rock Island on Nov. 15.
Senior Kersten Speed was selected as a member of the All-District Orchestra, which will perform at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb on Nov. 22.
While at the festival, the students will rehearse all day with students from District II and then perform a concert in the evening.
“These students had to audition to receive this wonderful opportunity. Their hard work has paid off,” said Galva Junior/Senior High School music instructor Pamela Lee.
