'67 AlWood graduate earns CSC distinctions

Janet LaDage has been honored by Carl Sandburg College for many years of distinguished service to that institution.

Janet LaDage, a 1967 AlWood High School graduate, was one of two persons recently receiving a Distinguished Service Award from Carl Sandburg College and being inducted into the CSC Wall of Honor.

Criteria for induction to the Wall of Honor include leadership within the college community, excellence in performing the tasks required by the position held at the college, service in and/or for organizations outside the college community, humility, and sincere effort in self-growth.

LaDage, now of Galesburg, was a professor of office occupations, computer software, and English courses for CSC from 1974 to 2008. She also served as the Business Division chairperson from 1987 to 1997 and as a coordinator in the Department of Occupational Programs from 2005 to 2008.

She was chairperson of the faculty council, the tenure commission, and the curriculum committee; was president of Sandburg Faculty Association and served on the negotiating committee; and was faculty advisor for Phi Beta Lambda and the Student Government Association.

She was a recipient of the ICCTA Faculty of the Year Award in 1992.

She received her B.S. and M.S. degrees from Western Illinois University.
