Snyder's 1st leads Galva artists in Henry/Stark affair

Mary Snyder of Galva High School displays the artwork she created which won first place in the Tempera Paint division of the Henry/Stark Art Festival last week. The junior’s first place led a strong showing by GHS artitsts at the annual event.

Junior Mary Snyder captured first place in Tempera Paint to lead Galva High School to a strong showing at the Henry/Stark Art Festival held in Geneseo on March 12.

Snyder, whose eye-catching multi-color painting won the lone first place by Galva students, also won a third place in Pencil Drawing.

She was joined by several other GHS artists who captured second, third or honorable mention. Winning these honors were:

Sam Murphy - 2nd in Ink Drawing and 2nd in Printmaking

Ethan Halsall - 2nd in Photography and honorable mention in Photography

Nick Harding - 3rd in Mixed Media

Sam Novotny - honorable mention in Tempera Paint

Chelsie Snyder - honorable mention in 3-D Design
