Nelson, Halsall lead area artists in LTC contest

Morgan Nelson and Ethan Halsall both captured first place in their respective categories to lead Galva High School students in the Lincoln Trail Conference Art Show held March 24.

Nelson, a junior, won first for a sculpture piece; Halsall, a sophomore, won a photography category.

Other top placers for Galva were: Nick Harding, second in mixed media; Shannon Clark, second in painting-tempera; Coriann Grant, second in sculpture; Sam Murphy, third in ink and honorable mention in tempera painting; Sam Novotny, honorable mention in ink; and Mary Snyder, third in painting.

AlWood received two honorable mentions at the contest: one for Karen DePew’s oil pastel work and one for Erica DeCrane’s free-standing sculpture.

ROWVA won an honorable mention: Cassie Grawe in miscellaneous painting.
