Galva High School and BHC: A winning combination

Administrators and board members of Galva CUSD #224 are continually striving to provide challenges and opportunities to our students. In particular, one popular program provides both a challenge and an opportunity for Galva High School upperclassmen.
This program is called Dual Enrollment.
District #224 has signed an agreement with Black Hawk College to allow our upperclassmen to earn college credit while still in high school.
It works in one of two ways:
1) a Galva High School teacher with a Master’s Degree could teach the college class (using the college curriculum) on the Galva High School campus.
2) our students could drive to the Black Hawk campus to take the class during school hours.
Dual enrollment is a great deal for our students. Not only do they get to earn college credits while still in high school, those courses count for both high school credits and college credits at the same time.
