Vo-Ag Fair crowns long list of winners

The Section III FFA Vo-Ag Fair was held Wednesday, July 1 and Thursday, July 2. The horse show took place Wednesday, July 1 at the Black Hawk College, East Campus, Kewanee, with the help of the Equine Science staff members at the college. The Vo-Ag fair was held Thursday, July 2 at the Henry County Fairgrounds.

Twelve schools in Section III that participated in the event included AlWood, Annawan, Bureau Valley, Cambridge, Galva, Geneseo, Kewanee, Wethersfield, Orion, Princeton, Stark County and Sherrard.

Plaques were awarded to the Grand Champions as well as ribbons to allparticipants.

Judges for the event included Doug Nelson, beef; Doug Hankes, swine; Mallory Swanson, SAE; Doug Murray, dairy; Jay Hofer, sheep/goats; Brook Byers, equine; Roxie DeShane, horticulture; Ron VanDeWalle, rabbits, and Randal Shimmin, poultry.
