GHS chess team starts strongly: swipes 2 at Peoria school

The Galva High School chess team defeated Peoria Woodruff on Jan. 6, downing the hosts 46-22 and 34.5-33.5.

Nick Caravello, Harry Hergert and Jacob McClintic led Galva by each winning both of their matches.

Charles Bollman won one match and drew one match to aid the Galva cause. Hayley Thuline, Devon Peterson and Ryan Billingsly all went 1-0 for the day.
