Two more ROWVA District 208 teachers were rehired for the 2010-11 school year on June 21 after two more long-time teachers retired, effective immediately.

Kathie Lincoln, who had taught in the ROWVA District since 1981 and Sheri Phillips, who began in the district in 1984, were both honored at the beginning of the ROWVA School Board’s June 21 meeting. Their retirement resignations were accepted later in the meeting.

Verna Allen, a cook in the district since 1988, was also honored on the occasion of her retirement.

Although not present, retiree Gail Johnson, a custodian in the district since 1989, was also honored.

The board also accepted the retirement resignation of Judy Lake, the district treasurer and superintendent’s secretary, effective Dec. 31, with regret and appreciation.

Teacher Ben Rees’ request to no longer coach seventh grade basketball was approved.

Cara Mack was hired with a fourth year contract and Sarah Stewart was hired with a second year contract.

Maria Salsman was employed to teach high school math as a first year teacher. That opening was created when Jason Danner moved to the junior and senior high P.E. teaching position left vacant when Dick Behringer retired at the end of the 2009-10 school year.
