Print and take this list of C.R. Hanna school supplies

C.R. Hanna Elementary School has released a list of school supplies for 2010-11. Print and take this list along during shopping expeditions. The Orion school district will not be mailing copies of its newsletter, so the Gazette list is convenient for readers to use.

Kindergarten

? Two 24-crayon boxes, regular size (not large).

? Fiskar scissors.

? Five glue sticks, 1.27 oz.

? Prang or Crayola watercolors.

? Two boxes, 10-count classic color markers, not skinny.

? One large box, facial tissue.

? Two boxes, diaper wipes or disinfectant wipes.

? Two boxes, Ziploc resealable bags, sandwich size.

? One Elmer’s Glue bottle, white, 4 oz.

? 10 yellow pencils with erasers, sharpened.

? Two pink erasers, large.

? One plastic school-supply box, 8 in. x 5 in. x 2 in.

? One 3-ring binder, 1-in. wide, solid color.

? One school bag, which zips up and which can hang on the back of the student’s chair.

The child’s name should be on everything, except glue sticks, glue bottles, pencils, wipes and facial tissue. Put the name on each crayon and marker.

First grade

? 24 pencils, #2 lead, with plain pink erasers,  sharpened.

? Four pink erasers, large.

? Four 8-crayon boxes, small size.

? One 48-crayon box.

? 1 set of wide Crayola washable markers, classic colors.

? Fiskar school scissors (small metal scissors with points).

? Two Elmer’s Glue bottles with orange caps, white, 4 oz.

? Two glue sticks.

? Three packages of lined index cards, 4 by 6.

? Four two-pocket folders, one red, one yellow, one blue and one green, no prongs.

? Three one-subject notebooks, wide-lined.

? One plastic school-supply box, 8 x 5 x2.

? One box facial tissue, large.

? One set, 8-color Crayola or Prang watercolors.

? One 50-count box, Ziploc resealable bags, sandwich size.

? Two boxes, Ziploc resealable bags, gallon size.

? Four containers of disinfectant wipes.

? Durable book bag, large enough to carry an 11 x 13 Friday folder.

Put the child’s name only on scissors, school box and folders.

If buying a lunch box, keep in mind that the classrooms have limited storage space.

Second grade

? One 48-crayon box.

? One Elmer’s Glue bottle, white, 4 oz.

? Two glue sticks, 1.27 oz.

? 24 yellow #2 pencils with plain pink erasers,  sharpened.

? Two pink erasers.

? Four two-pocket folders, one red, one yellow, one blue and one green, no prongs.

? One spiral notebook, wide-lined.

? One box facial tissue, large.

? One set color markers, washable.

? One school-supply box, no larger than 8 x 10.

? One box baby wipes.

? Scissors, small metal with points.

? One box Ziploc resealable bags.

The child’s name needs to be on the folders and notebook.

Third grade

? Transparent tape.

? Crayons.

? Elmer’s Glue, white, 4 oz.

? One glue stick, large.

? Scissors, pointed.

? 10 pencils, #2,  sharpened.

? Loose-leaf notebook paper, wide-ruled.

? Watercolors.

? Gym shoes.

? Three pocket folders, one yellow, one red, one any color.

? Classic-color markers, washable.

? Paint shirt, long sleeves.

? One box colored pencils.

? Two pens, red ink.

? Two boxes facial tissue, large.

? One container disinfectant wipes, small.

The child’s name should be on all items.

Fourth grade

? Five 70-page spiral notebooks, two green, one blue, one red, one purple, wide-lined.

? Nine plain (not shiny) pocket folders, two green, two blue, one red, two yellow, one purple, one any color (may be decorated).

? Loose-leaf notebook paper, wide-lined.

? Two boxes facial tissue.

? Three containers disinfectant wipes.

? Scissors, pointed.

? One box classic-color markers.

? 48 pencils, #2,  sharpened.

? Two pink erasers, large.

? One 48-crayon (or larger) box.

? Two Elmer’s Glue bottles, school glue.

? Two glue sticks.

? Ruler with inches and centimeters.

? Several ball-point pens, blue ink.

? Six rolls transparent tape.

? One highlighter marker.

? Tennis shoes.

? One large pencil pouch. No large pencil boxes.

Put the child’s name on scissors, folders, notebooks, ruler and highlighter marker.

Fifth grade

? Four 70-page spiral notebooks, one red, one green, one purple and one yellow, wide-lined.

? Six pocket folders, one red, one green, one purple, one yellow, one blue, one any color (can be decorated). No 3-ring notebooks, no Trapper notebooks.

? 48 pencils.

? One 48-crayon box.

? Two rolls transparent tape.

? Ruler with inches and centimeters.

? Erasers, large.

? Scissors, sharp.

? Loose-leaf notebook paper, wide-lined.

? Two boxes facial tissue, large.

? Elmer’s Glue bottle, 4 oz.

? Watercolors.

? Tennis shoes.

? Four pens, two red and two blue or black.

? Pencil bag. No large pencil boxes.

? Classic-color markers.

? Pencil sharpener, personal-size.

? One of the following: disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer or resealable bags.
