Orion Middle School has released a list of school supplies for 2010-11.

Print and take this list along during shopping expeditions. The Orion school district will not be mailing out paper copies of its newsletter, making the Gazette list convenient for readers.

All grades

? TI-34 MultiView calculators, may be purchased at registration at a discounted price. Students in eighth grade algebra need a different calculator (see eighth grade list below).

? Protractors, may be purchased at registration at a discounted price.

? Assignment notebook, for sale at registration.

? Lanyard for school ID, lunch card and library card, may be purchased at registration.

? Two boxes facial tissue for first period teacher.

? BIC Wite-Out correction tape, not correction liquid (which is permanent).

? Book bag to fit in 11 3/4 in. wide by 10 3/4 in. deep locker. No book bags with wheels.

? Magnets for lockers, not tape.

? Book covers (recommended), XL  for math, history and social studies, one-size-fits-all covers for other subjects.

? Two sets colored pencils, one for school and one for home.

? Pens, red, blue and black.

? Pencils, #2, and erasers.

? 10 to 12 pencils, sharpened, to leave at school for math.

? Loose-leaf notebook paper, including one pack to be left in math classroom.

? Graph paper for math.

? 12-in. ruler with metric markings.

? Gym shirt, for sale at registration.

? Gym lock, for sale at registration.

? Gym shorts, black.

? Gym shoes and socks.

? Roll-on deodorant.

Sixth grade

? One 3-subject notebook for English.

? Five 70-page spiral notebooks, two green for science, two yellow for science and one any color for music appreciation.

? One composition-style notebook, hard cover, for math.

? Nine pocket folders, two blue for reading, two folders (matching colors) for English, one green for science (with clips if possible), two yellow for social studies, one for math (same color as notebook), one for music appreciation mini-course.

Seventh grade

? Two composition-style notebooks, hard covers, for math.

? Two composition-style notebooks or two spiral notebooks for pre-algebra.

? Six subject notebooks, one any color for literature, one any color for English, two green for science, two any color for social studies.

? One 3-ring binder for band.

? Eight pocket folders, two blue for literature, two for English, one for math (same color as notebook), one for pre-algebra, one green for science, one for social studies, one for machines mini-course.

? Transparent tape for science.

Eighth grade

? TI-84 of TI-84 Plus graphing calculator for algebra.

? One Mead composition notebook for pre-algebra, math and algebra.

? Two composition-style notebooks for English and one for literature.

? One 3-ring binder for band.

? One 3-subject spiral notebook for English.

? Five 70-page spiral notebooks, one for literature, two green for science, two for history.
