School leader stepping down next year

Galva Junior-Senior High School Principal Richard Kucharz has announced his intention to retire at the beginning of the 2011-12 school year.

Galva Junior-Senior High School Principal Richard Kucharz has announced his intentions to retire at the beginning of the 2011-12 school year.

Kucharz’s intentions were approved by the Galva School Board at the board’s meeting Monday night. His exact retirement date will be announced later.

Other personnel appointments announced during the evening were:

•retirement of teacher Karen Anderson at the end of the 2011-2012 school year.

•employment of Cathy Warner, Deb Meyer, Pam Foley and Megan Haurberg as aides for the 2010-11 school year.

•employment of Vicki Conner as seventh grade volleyball coach for the 2010-11 school year

•resignation of Lindsey Brown as junior varsity volleyball coach

•employment of Ivan Brake as a bus driver and Judy Kitterman as a special education bus aide.

•employment of Chance Jones as boys varsity basketball coach, Nicole Ponce as girls assistant varsity coach, and Tera Rothzen as assistant varsity volleyball coach.
