About that siren and air transport in Galva today

Doug Boock

Galva residents may hear the emergency siren sounded in the city about 10:15 a.m. this morning. It's part of a special exercise at Galva High School.

The event is a mock crash at GHS, with local emergency personnel on hand to help portray a crash scene. A helicopter may appear, landing on the GHS football field.

The activity is designed to teach students about the gravity of drinking and driving, especially as GHS students prepare for prom this weekend.
