First Lego League team advances to state

Geneseo's First Lego League team 'The Control Freaks' won the 'Rookie Team' award at a meet in Rock Island on Dec. 15. The team qualified as one of four teams to advance to the state tournament in Arlington Heights in January. The competition has four parts: robot competition, project presentation, core value challenge and robot design. The team's first year has been funded by John Deere and is a pilot program in the Geneseo School District.
