If it snows enough, cars need moved

Galva city officials are reminding the public that it is illegal to park all vehicles and trailers on all curb and gutter streets in Galva within eight hours after a snowfall of one inch or more, unless the snow has been plowed or otherwise removed from the street.

Parking on non-curb and gutter streets that will impair snow removal by city personnel is also a violation of city ordinances.

If the street is not cleared of snow within the eight hours, the no-parking restriction continues until the snow is removed from the street.

A vehicle parked on the street in violation of the terms above is subject to towing at the owner's expense, and citations may be issued.
