Milford W. 'Steve' Stephenson obituary

Milford "Steve" W. Stephenson, 90, of Peoria passed away at 12:50 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013 at Proctor Endowment Home, Peoria.

Steve was born July 29, 1923 in Kewanee, the son of Milford and Eva Anderson Stephenson.

He married Barbara J. Johnson on Nov. 15, 1951 in Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years; one granddaughter, Suzette; and one brother, Howard.

Steve is survived by, one son Mark (Mary) of Washington; daughters, Diane (Larry) Claudin of Peoria, and Connie (Gary) Kepley of Chillicothe; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Steve was a 1951 graduate of Bradley University and was a member of the Ulumni. He was also a member of A.F. & A.M. Temple Lodge # 46, and Peoria Consistory & Mohammed Shrine.

He was in the Army Air-Corp, serving in World War II for three-and-a-half years.

He was an owner-operator of Amoco on Moss & Western in Peoria for 35 years until his retirement in 1985.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria. Pastor Mary Jane West will officiate.

Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel, Peoria, is in charge of arrangements.
