Portion of blacktop east of Altona closed to through-traffic

As of Monday, Knox County Highway 4 is closed to through-traffic between Altona and County Highway 15 (1800E).

Knox County Highway 4 is the blacktop which leads eastward out of Altona.

Motorists need to find alternate routes. There will be no through-traffic allowed during the closure.

The reconstruction project for County Highway 4 will begin with tree removal followed by the removal of the large box culvert just east of Altona.

Depending on weather this fall, the road should be opened to through-traffic around Dec. 1.
