Our oldest brother, James Richard Ericson, passed away on Feb. 6, 2014 in Mesa, Ariz.

As his siblings, sisters Cheryl (John) Holevoet, and Sharon Laermans, and brother Ray (Marian) Ericson), we wish to celebrate his life and remember the blessing he was to us. Friends and relatives are welcome to join us in our memorial on July 14, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the St. John’s Church in Galva.

James was born on July 27, 1935 in Henry County.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and sibling.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margie Marquez Ericson of Pine Top, Ariz.; daughters, Erika Ericson (Devin) Kirkman of Mesa and Sally Ericson (Lance) Muncy of Show Low, Ariz.; grandchildren, Dustin and Alyssa Kirkman and Lonnie and Curtis Muncy; and his sisters and brother.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Richard Ericson Jr., his father, Richard Ericson, and mother, Dorothea Ericson and his grandparents, Eric and Lillian Miner and Oscar and Bessie Ericson.

Jim was an electrical engineer and a builder who built several houses for family.

He loved fishing, hunting, woodworking and silversmithing.
