Galva Cleanup Week underway

The City of Galva is into its second day of its annual cleanup week, with residents beginning to dispose of waste yesterday, and continuing to do so through Saturday.
The week is for Galva residents only. Proof of residency will be required.
All residents are asked to bring items to Galva’s maintenance yard to be placed in a roll-off provided by Eagle Enterprises.
The yard is immediately south of the former Eastgate Lanes bowling alley on Route 34 on the city’s east side.
Possible Assistance
Anyone who is handicapped or unable to take their items to the yard can call City Hall for assistance.
Assistance will only be available from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25.
The city will only come to your residence one time for pick-up – repeat visits will not be allowed.
Yard Hours
The yard will be open the following hours:
• 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, June 22-25
• 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 26
• 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 27
Unacceptable Items
Items not accepted are anti-freeze, LP tanks, yard waste, paint or any hazardous material.
Tires will be accepted for a fee, depending on their size.
TVs and Electronics
Televisions and electronic components will be accepted at Eagle Enterprises during their normal business hours, which are 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 to 11 a.m. on Saturday.
There is no charge for residents to dispose of these electronic items. If questions, call Eagle Enterprises at 932-2936.
Eagle Enterprises plant is located at 510 SE Industrial Ave., which is southwest of the River Valley Co-op office on Route 34 East.
