Henry County Fair back for 156th edition

The Henry County Fair returns for its 156th edition, hosting amusements and events daily, from Tuesday, June 23 through Sunday, June 28 at the fairgrounds in Cambridge.

Highlights of this year's fair include a concert by Country Music singer Chris Cagle on Friday, June 26 at 7:30 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m. He comes on the heels of Eric Paslay's popular musical performance at last year’s fair.

The popular Miss Henry County Fair queen pageant is Tuesday, June 23. The Little Miss contestants compete at 5:30 p.m. The Junior Miss and Miss contestants compete at 7 p.m.

Wednesday's lineup includes the talent show at 5 p.m. and truck pulls beginning 7 p.m. Tractor pulls will also be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 25.

Among highlights Saturday, June 27 is a demolition derby at 6 p.m.

The last day of the fair, Sunday, June 28, will kick off with a 5k run at 8 a.m. That will be followed by mud drags at 9 a.m. 4-H contests, rides and more will fill out the rest of the day's lineup.

In addition, the usual lineup of 4-H livestock and other exhibit contests will be held daily, at various times. Amusement rides and many food vendors will be present as usual.

Gate admission is $5 per person daily, except free for children ages 8 and under.

Grandstand prices are $5 on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday; $20 on Friday; and $10 on Saturday. Kids 8 and under are free of charge, except Friday.
