Galva, AlWood teams advance in junior high LTC tourney

Galva's two teams, and the AlWood seventh grade team, all advanced Saturday to this week's competition.

The Galva seventh and eighth grade teams both won Saturday, as did the AlWood seventh grade team, moving all three teams into tonight's semifinal games of the Lincoln Trail Conference junior high boys basketball tournament in Oneida.

The Galva seventh grade team, seeded No. 5, beat No. Cambridge Saturday. The Bobcats will now play No. 1 Wethersfield tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the ROWVA Junior High gym. The Geese beat No. 8 Annawan on Saturday. No. 2 AlWood will play No. 3 Stark County immediately after the Galva game, about 6:45 p.m. AlWood beat No. 7 ROWVA on Saturday.

The Galva eighth grade team, seeded No. 3, beat No. 6 Wethersfield on Saturday. The Bobcats will play No. 2 Annawan at 6:45 p.m. in the ROWVA High School gym. Annawan beat No. 7 ROWVA on Saturday. Tonight's Galva game will be preceded at 5:30 p.m. by a contest between No. 1 United and No. 4 Stark County. United beat No. 8 AlWood. Stark County beat No. 5 Cambridge, both on Saturday.

Losers of tonight's games will play for third place at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Winners will play for the championship at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. Seventh grade games will be at ROWVA Junior High; eighth grade games will be at ROWVA High School.
