Eagle Enterprises Recycling, Inc. has announced its holiday recycling and garbage collection schedule for the city of Galva.

Garbage collection will be completed on the regular Monday and Wednesday schedule following both Christmas and New Year’s Day (Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 north of the railroad tracks; Dec. 28 and Jan. 4 south of the tracks).

Recycling collection will be completed on Jan. 2 (north) and Jan. 4 (south).

Also during the first two garbage collections following Christmas, the bag limit will be increased to 6 bags or cans per household. Each bag or can cannot exceed 33-gallon in capacity or 50 pounds in weight. (The normal weekly limit is two bags or cans, with neither exceeding 33-gallon in capacity or 50 pounds in weight.)

Large items disposed of during the holidays will still require a large item sticker, as is usual for weekly pickups by Eagle Enterprises.

Traditional wrapping paper or wrapping paper made of brown paper is recyclable. Please remove all bows and ribbon.

Foil-type wrapping paper is not recyclable and should be placed in your garbage.
