Elvi-Beetle Tribute Tour coming to Orion on Saturday
Tickets are on sale now for the Elvi-Beetle Tribute Tour on Saturday, July 31, at the band shell in Central Park.
This tour is the first to bring together tributes to Elvis and the Beatles, according to Elvis impersonator Al Hull.
Sandwiches and desserts will be for sale at 6 p.m., and the Orion Community Band will perform at 7 p.m.
The Elvi-Beetle Tribute Tour will be on stage from 8 to 10 p.m.
Hull has been impersonating Elvis since 1978, when he performed for his mother’s class reunion. He has performed all over the country, including theme parks in Florida.
In 1996, Hull and his friends, Sandy and Ed Fritzler, opened Legends Cafe in Galesburg as a home for the Elvis show. It has sold out every time for 14 years.
The Elvi-Beetle show opens with the Beatles tribunte. Then the band sings harmony and plays Elvis’ music as Hull belts it out.
Presented by Main Street Orion, the evening is sponsored by BankORION, Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Casey’s General Store, Modern Woodmen of America and John Deere.
