Insurance

Excess insurance is provided by the school district through Markel Insurance Company for students in prekindergarten through 12th grade. A student is covered against medical expenses for accidents not covered by the family’s primary plan that occur while attending regular school sessions. This coverage includes travel time for a child directly to and from his/her residence to attend regular school sessions. If a child travels to school on a district bus, the coverage extends to the travel time of the bus. This protection is provided by the school district at no cost to parents.

Football insurance is mandatory for students in grades seven through 12 who participiate in football.

Food prices

Lunch prices will be $1.75 for kindergarten through sixth grade, $2 for a regular meal for grades seven through twelve and $2.40 for adults. Breakfast prices will be $1.25 for students in kindergarten through sixth grade, $1.50 for students in seventh through 12thgrade and $1.75 for adults.

Season athletic passes

No season athletic passes will be sold during registration this year because of the athletic co-op. There is a Lincoln Trail Conference Senior Citizen pass for individuals 62 and older. This is a lifetime pass for all LTC activities.

School bus

All rural students will receive a letter informing them of their approximate school bus pick-up time at registration. Persons new to the district should phone the unit office for bus routes and times. On the first day of school, all bus students should be at the pick-up points a few minutes ahead of time. Students who live in town and attend grades seven through 12 are not eligible to ride the bus to school.

Phone directory

The Cambridge Parents’ Club is publishing a district wide phone directory for the 2010-11 school year. It will include students’ names, parents’ names and phone numbers for students in prekindergarten through high school, listed according to homerooms. The back of the directory will include the parents’ names, address, home phone number and a list of the children in each family. Parents will have the opportunity at registration to fill out a consent form. This form will provide the club with the correct information and/or the only information that the family wishes to be published. If someone does not sign a consent form, their child’s information will not be included in the phone directory.

High school yearbook

A high school yearbook will cost $60 this year. There is a $6 fee if someone would like their name printed on the front cover of the book. The cost of the book goes up to $70 after Dec. 3.
