New superintendent reports on Power School system

Staff Writer

Greetings from the Superintendent’s office! It is hard to believe that the first quarter is about over. I would like to take this time to mention a few things going on in our school district.

First, Power School is up and running in the junior and high school. Parents can access their child’s progress in school from home on the computer. Elementary parents, during parent teacher conference time, will be able to access Power School. Starting Saturday, Nov. 1, elementary school parents will be able to access the system to follow their child’s progress. We are excited about this opportunity to improve communication with you the parents; continuing to build the bridge between home and the school.

Also, please check out the tour of the school on the District Web site and the podcasts. What is a podcast you may ask? It is an audio recoding from the members of the school discussing the events going on in our school district.

Finally, I would like to encourage you to become involved with the Cambridge Parents Club and the new Cambridge Parent’s Network. The Cambridge Parent’s Network is a combined effort between parents and the school to offer information, support, and communication between all of us to help our children through the challenging social issues they face. A meeting will be held Nov. 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the high school. I hope to see you there.

As always, I want to thank you for your support of your children, their teachers, and the school and community as a whole. You truly make it “Great to be a Viking!”
