Valley View will host a rally for the cure golf outing Sunday, Sept. 21. The event will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation. “We only have room for five more teams,” stated Jolene Allen, co-rally ambassador. Getting ready for the event, are from left, front row, Nikki Ernst and back row, Staci Gibson, Jessica Johnson and Naomi Stahl.

Valley View is taking part in the Rally for the Cure presented by Golf for Women magazine, a breast cancer awareness campaign that is the nation’s largest grassroots women’s golf program Sunday, Sept. 21.

Breakfast will be served from 8 to 9 a.m. with a shot-gun tee off at 9 a.m. Teams of four women will be flighted in three groups for golf prizes. There will also be “hunks” available on the course to drive balls on par-five holes, as well as other hole event prizes. A celebration program follows golf in which breast cancer survivors will be recognized. Raffle tickets for chances to win prize baskets valued at $100 or more will be available for purchase at the event.

Only five openings remain for golf teams to participate.

Memorial flags commemorating a loved one who battled breast cancer are for sale. Flags are displayed during the event and then taken home as a keepsake.

During the past nine years, the Valley View Rally for Cure has donated more than $75,000 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Hole sponsorships and door prize donations are being accepted.
