Visiting DePue outlasted the Galva Lady Cats in a non-conference volleyball match on Sept. 4.

After Galva won the game 25-19, DePue came back to take the next two, 25-18 and 15-7.

“We got off to a good start, but then I don’t know what happened,” said first-year Galva head coach Marcy Spring. “It’s frustrating, after playing so well in the first game."

Sisters and co-captains Ashley Thomson and Nicole Thomson led the Lady Cats with four kills and five aces, respectively.

The Lady Cats dropped their season opener on Sept. 2 to Westmer, 4-25, 20-25. No stats were available.

Galva dropped to 0-2 in the Lincoln Trail Conference and 0-3 overall with a 4-25 and 10-25 setback to United on Sept. 8 in Alexis. Sam Novotny paced the Lady Cats with 12 digs while Chloe McIntire added a block.

United improved to 2-0 for the season.
