Varsity golfers win twice

    Coach John McBride’s Orion golfers pulled off two wins on Thursday, Aug. 28, at Deer Valley Country Club, Deer Grove.

    The Chargers defeated the Cambridge Vikings 182-270 and edged the Bureau Valley Storm 182-185.

    Orion’s Lucas Grymonprez was the match medalist with a 42.

    His teammates were Devin Pettifer, 45; Jake Dahl, 45; Travis Fritz, 50; Alex Gombert, 50; and Jim Hills, 53.

    Fritz recorded Orion’s only birdie on the par-3 third hole.

    The Chargers parred 11 holes. Pettifer had four; Grymonprez, three; and Fritz, Hills, Dahl and Gombert, one each.
