Lady Aces' LTC dreams don't have perfect ending
Wethersfield handed the AlWood High School volleyball team its first Lincoln Trail Conference loss of the season Oct. 6 in Kewanee, 26-24, 25-16, despite an all-around effort from the Lady Aces’ Stephanie Williams.
Williams led the Lady Aces (14-6, 6-1) with 11 assists, nine service points, seven digs and four blocks.
Also for AlWood, Michelle Williams had six digs and four kills, and Dana DeSutter chipped in five digs and two aces.
With the win, Wethersfield went to 10-11-1 overall and 4-2 in the LTC.
On Oct. 1, AlWood captured a hard-fought 28-26, 25-23 LTC victory over United.
Stephanie Williams led the way with 15 assists and seven kills while Michelle Williams had 12 kills and five digs.
Also for the Lady Aces, Cassie Williams handed out eight assists; DeSutter and Ella Teel contributed six and five blocks, respectively; and Dani Lessard had five digs.
