ROWVA makes it farthest

ROWVA made it the farthest of Galva, AlWood and ROWVA teams participating in the 21st Annual Wethersfield Booster Club Fresh-Soph Boys Basketball Tournament, a three-weekend tournament which concluded March 7.

ROWVA made it to the championship bracket semi-finals. They defeated Riverdale in an opening-round 55-45 game on Feb. 21 before falling to eventual champion Chillicothe IVC 53-22 on Feb. 28. The Tigers lost their semi-final game to Wethersfield in a close, 30-28 battle on March 2.

Galva dropped both of its games, 61-35 against Riverdale on Feb. 21 and 45-32 to Prophetstown on Feb. 28.

AlWood also lost its two games, 66-25 to eventual second-place finisher Peoria Christian on Feb. 21 and 58-28 to Stark County on Feb. 28.

IVC beat Peoria Christian 64-50 to win the title. Annawan downed Princeville 67-64 to win third place, also Saturday night. Erie and Abingdon won the consolation title and fifth place, respectively.
