Aces come back for regional win

AlWood-Cambridge overcame an early deficit to defeat Galva in the opening-round of the Class 1A ROWVA Regional Monday, May 18, at Woodhull.
The visiting Wildcats put three runs on the board in the first inning, sparked by a Mitch Kitterman home run.
Tyler Carlson had a two-run single to lead a five-run bottom of the second that put the Aces on top 5-3.
Kitterman homered again in the third inning as Galva battled back to knot the game 5-5.
But A-C’s offense shifted into high gear in the bottom of the third. Tory Caulkins hit two home runs and Tyler Waugh and Caleb Seibert added roundtrippers in an eight-run outburst that put the Aces up 13-5.
