AlWood-Cambridge overcame an early deficit to defeat Galva in the opening-round of the Class 1A ROWVA Regional Monday, May 18, at Woodhull.

The visiting Wildcats put three runs on the board in the first inning, sparked by a Mitch Kitterman home run.

Tyler Carlson had a two-run single to lead a five-run bottom of the second that put the Aces on top 5-3.

Kitterman homered again in the third inning as Galva battled back to knot the game 5-5.

But A-C’s offense shifted into high gear in the bottom of the third. Tory Caulkins hit two home runs and Tyler Waugh and Caleb Seibert added roundtrippers in an eight-run outburst that put the Aces up 13-5.

AlWood-Cambridge finished off the victory with four runs in the fourth inning, which included a two-run double by Cameron Teel.

Caulkins finished with three hits, two homers and five RBI’s to pace the Aces.

Luke Brandt was the winner for the Aces and Brennan Steward took the loss for the Wildcats.
