Princesses rude visitors

Powered by 6-2 senior center Leah Whittaker, who scored 20 points - most in the first half - Princeville downed host Galva 72-20 in a girls high school varsity basketball game on Monday night.

Freshman Skylar Savage led Galva with five points. Erika Edmonds added four.

“We’d always like to have more wins but we’re starting to get into the LTC (Lincoln Trail Conference season) and the LTC’s pretty tough,” Coach Jeremy Trill assessed of his team, which is now 3-14. “We need to work on our defense and rebounding a little more and hopefully our shots will start falling.”

The Lady Cats return to action Monday, Jan. 11, when they host a powerful, state-ranked Ridgewood team.
