The No. 3-ranked Ridgewood Spartans held off a pesky United team 66-59 to win a girls varsity basketball game in Woodhull on Jan. 13.

The hosts led 30-21 at the half, but United cut the deficit to 44-40 after three quarters.

Ridgewood hit 15 of 23 free throws in the final frame to hold off the Red Storm.

The win was No. 20 on for Ridgewood, which improved to 20-1 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the LTC.

On the next night, Amanda Kruger and Ella Teel scored 16 points each to lead Ridgewood to a non-conference win over Wethersfield 72-53.
