OHS students sign letters of intent

Four Orion High School graduates signed national letters of intent to continue their athletic careers in college on Thursday, May 28. To comply with social distancing rules, the ceremony was on the sidewalk outside the building so friendsand family could watch from their cars in the student parking lot. From left to right are Rebecca Grems, Christian Grems and Michael Grems. Christian Grems signed to play baseball at Aurora University. Orion varsity coach Jeremy Jungwirth said he had coached Christian since he was 9 years old. "He loves baseball, and he's a hard worker,"; Jungwirth said. "I feel really bad he didn't get a chance to have a senior season. Aurora is getting a great person and player."
From left to right are Taryn Dunlap, Ben Dunlap and Mike Dunlap, and standing behind them is Orion football coach Chip Filler. Ben Dunlap signed to play football at Wartburg College. "There's never been a better leader in our program," Filler said, who noted Dunlap was a three-year starter, an All-Conference selection and a straight-A student.
