What should readers expect from The State Journal-Register's high school sports coverage this school year?  

The sports staff will once again spotlight the area’s best athletes but with a greater emphasis on digital content.  

What does that mean? Readers can stay up to date on high school sports coverage by checking the sj-r.com website and becoming an online subscriber where stories and content often will first be published a day in advance prior to print.

As fall sports begin Monday with practice, readers can expect daily online coverage throughout the week with extensive coverage on football before and after the opening kickoff on Friday, Aug. 27.

Coverage will be consistent each week during the football season with updates and top analysis from sports reporters Ryan Mahan and Bill Welt.
