Ridgewood spikers defeat Galva

Ridgewood’s Lady Spartans dominated the courts Wednesday, Sept. 22, as they hosted Galva at Cambridge High School and won 25-17 and 25-14.
“Tonight was a night where we were able to make a lot of different substitutions to try a few different positions,” said coach Lisa Miller. “I was pleased with the adjustments that we were able to make. Serves were impressive tonight and they are doing a great job with their placement. We have a few nights of practice and then head into a busy week with three in a row during homecoming week.”
Ashley Kruger led the squad in kills having six during two-game match. She also served up an ace, had three digs and two solo blocks.
Ella Teel and Katie Luallen dished out four kills each. Teel had three digs and three solo blocks also.
Sammi Stevenson had three kills and two assists.
Hayley McDowell, Taylor Vincent, Annie Gelaude and Dani Lessard had one kill each.
Hanna Swanson led the squad in assists, contributing 14. Brooklyn Wexell had three.
McDowell had two aces. Getting one each were Vincent, Gelaude, Lessard, Swanson, Nelson and Wexell.
Other digs came from Gelaude with two and Vincent, Nelson and Emalee Brink with one each.
Leaders for Galva were Miranda Olander and Skylar Savage with three kills each, Pasence Walton with six digs, Rachel Jeffries with three aisssts, Savage with two blocks and Hannah Nordstrom with seven service points.
