Miller, Fielding pace Orion harriers at Amboy Columbus Day cross country meet

Megan Miller finished in the top 25 among 243 runners to lead Orion at the Amboy Columbus Day Invitational on Monday, Oct. 11, at Shady Oaks golf course.

Miller ran the 3-mile course in 18 minutes, 32 seconds, for 24th place on a warm, dry morning.

Ashley Anderson was 56th with a time of 19:34; Ann Samuelson, 77th, 20:01; Kiersten Wallarab, 98th, 20:38; Kaila Lange, 162, 22:13; Allie Owens, 191st, 23:01; and Sydney Early, 220th, 24:30.

With a score of 349, Orion came in 14th among 30 teams.

Area teams included Monmouth-Roseville, 17th with 489 points; Bureau Valley, 18th, 509; Erie-Prophetstown, 21st, 589; Sterling Newman, 25th, 639; Sherrard, 27th, 748; and Farmington, 28th, 760.

In the boys’ race, which had 260 finishers, Charger John Fielding came in 214th with a time of 19:19. Greg Hartsfield was 223rd at 19:37.
