Ridgewood baseball wins one of four games

    Ridgewood played four games of baseball last week, winning one.

Ridgewood 9, Fulton Unity Christian 4

    The Ridgewood Spartans hosted Fulton Unity Christian Monday, April 18, coming up with a 9-4 victory.

    Chad Leathers picked up the win pitching four innings allowing three runs on four hits.                

    Janson Noble, Nick Ragan and Tyler Nimrick each worked the inning in relief.

    Alex Main went 3-of-4 at the plate, while Tyler Waugh, Andrew Steider, Dustin Johnson and Noble had two hits each.

    Steider had four batted in and Waugh had three RBI’s.

United 8,Ridgewood 1

    On Thursday, April 21, the Spartans hosted the United Red Storm and fell 8-1. The Red Storm are currently 9-0 in conference action.

    Dusty Werner worked all seven innings for Ridgewood in the losing effort.

    Werner allowed 11 hits while fanning eight.

    Noah Shannon had the lone RBI.

    The Spartans managed just four hits, one each from Shannon, Waugh, Steider and Ragan.

ROWVA 6, Ridgewood 1

    Ridgewood was once again the host during a double header Saturday, April 23, in Woodhull.

    In game one, ROWVA won 6-1.

    Leathers took the loss pitching all seven innings allowing 12 hits.

    Werner had a two hit effort for the Spartans.

ROWVA 6,Ridgewood 2

    During the second game, ROWVA won 6-2. The Tigers starting pitcher Sam Rammage left the game in the first inning after he was hit in the lower body by a line drive off the bat of Dusty Werner. Rammage was taken to an area hospital and was not seriously injured.

    Andrew Steider took the loss but only gave up four hits.

    The Spartans committed five errors during the contest.

    Nick Ragan had a two hit game for the team. The team is now 5-14 overall and 3-7 in conference action.
