Ridgewood track competes at Dale Collis meet

    Sophomore trackster Molly Smith had another powerful performance at the 2011 Dale Collis Invite where she took first place in the 100-meter dash, the 200-m dash, and the 300-m hurdles, with a times of 13.47 seconds, 29.13, and 49.84, respectively.

   In the 800-m run, Mercedis Mejia ran a 2:56.98 seconds race, giving her a fifth place finish. Becca Sack follwed Mejia, grabbing a ninth place ribbon with a finishing time of 3:55.63.

   Senior Jessica Nail brought home first place in the 3200-m run with a time of 14:08.

    The Lady Spartan’s relay teams found much success as both their 4x200 and 4x800 teams both earned silver medal finishes, as their 4x400 relay team received fourth place and ran a time of 4:58.45.

    In the field events, Jasmine Jefko heaved the shot put 30-6 for a first place finish. Receiving a third place finish, Aly Smith concluded the triple jump competition with a hop, skip, and a jump of 28-7 and Senior Sammi Stevenson snagged fifth place in the discus throw with a toss of 68-10.

    Ridgewood earned a team finish of third place in the meet with a collective total of 68 points. Stark County won the Dale Collis title with 96 points.

    On the boys side of things, Kevin Miller took second in the high jump clearing 5-8.

    Matt Welch and Aaron Leander placed first and fifth in the 200-m dash with times of 24.41 and 25.9, respectively.

    In the 1600-m run, Julian Trotman placed second  with a time of 5:11.96. Jonathan Walsten came in fifth with a time of 5:34.03

    Jorge Urbina finished third in the 300-m hurdles with a time of 44.31.

    Matt Welch won the triple jump with a distance of  37-5 and Leander was a close second with 37-4.

    The 1600-m relay team placed third with a time of 3:56.01. No team members were given.

    Kyle Lookingbill placed third in the 400-m dash with a time of 58.19 and Jonathan Walsten came in fourth with a time of 2:30.55.

    The 800-m relay team won with a time of 1:38.79. No team members were given.

    Placing third was Matt Welch in the 100-m dash with a ime of 11.78 and Cody Anderson in the 100-m hurdles with a time of 18.18.

    The 3200-m relay team placed second with 10:01.28 and the 400-m relay team came in fourth with 49.13.

    Chris Bowles finished fourth in the 3200-m run with a time of 12:12.1

    Ben Smith Shot took second in the shot with 47-5 and fifth in the discus with a toss of 117-0.

    The boys placed second with 90 points. Galva won the meet with 107.
